Nominated Youth Community Service Ambassador

GYSD Plan:
Project 'Bornomala' aims at educating the future generation about the Language Movement of 1952 and creating a clear perception about International Mother Language Day. The children will learn about the heroes of our nation who died fighting for the sake of Bangla Language and for the country.

It is a three phase project which encircles underprivileged children of Dhaka and outside of Dhaka:

1. Handwriting Competition and Distribution of Educational Materials
2. Essay and Art competition based on the Language Movement
3. Exhibition of the Drawings

The Project will also create awareness about nutrition. The participants will be given nutritious "Shokti yoghourt". The schools authority will be requested to take weekly class on nutritious foods.

The Handwriting Competition will be conducted in four primary schools:

1) Josshor Union Kindergarten School, Narsingdi.
2) URECA School, Uttara, Dhaka.
3) Azampur Primary School, Uttara, Dhaka.
4) JAAGO Foundation School, Rayer Bazar, Dhaka

Participants securing 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be given special award and the first ten participants will be given certificate.

The top ten participants from the Handwriting Competition from the four schools will be selected and will be asked to write an essay on "Children's thoughts on the Language Movement'.

A three-day long art exhibition will be organized at Drik Gallery where the selected paintings will be exhibited. Fund raised through this exhibition will be donated to "Children Development Fund" of Volunteer for Bangladesh, which will be used in future projects.

About Myself
I am a 4th year Law student at University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the highest academic excellence and the most famous law school in this country. As a student of Dhaka University, I am fortunately privileged with lot of opportunities to have an access with extracurricular, social and community service activities. Beside my studentship, I am a young researcher, human right activist, young entrepreneur and environmental activist. I am involved with several legal and youth organizations in Bangladesh i.e. BELA (Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers Association), BAPA (Bangladesh Paribesh Andalon) and BYES (Bangladesh Youth Empowerment Society). I actively work with them for Youth Empowerment, Environment, Sustainable Economic Development, Public Policy, Legal Research and capacity building. At present, I am working for the climate refugees of southern part of Bangladesh that was severely affected by cyclone "Sidr" and "Aila". My special concern is how the life of coastal women is changing due to the climate change. To promote better living, education and sanitation for marginal classes of people I am involved with several NGOs like Citizen's Initiative, Poverty Fighter Foundation and few of my university centric volunteery organizations. Through these organizations, I work for sustainable development, climate issues and ensuring basic human rights for all classes of people. I actively participate in different youth movements for good governance and against corruption. I attended in several International youth conferences at home and abroad. I attended at SAYPC in Sri Lanka few days back and I have been selected as an International Delegate from Bangladesh for the International Youth Forum for Policy, Change and Development to be held in New Delhi from 24th-29th June, 2012. My interests are travelling, public speaking, debating and community service. I love to serve many people, to show my skills and to gain more experience to grow professionally.

  • Have an experience of working as a Call Center Agent in ATN call center for few months.
§  Participated in several mock trials on War Crimes held in Faculty of Law, University of Dhaka in the form of Moot Court Competition, where I got the access to Rome statute, ICTY, ICTR, Geneva Convention and several charters like Nuremberg Charter, Tokyo Charter etc. I played the role of counsel both in prosecution and defense.
  • Worked as a volunteer and interpreter in different national and international conferences.
§  Worked as an English teacher in several academic and admission coaching centers.
  • National coordinator of THE JURIST, India, A legal research organization which aims to help law professionals, students, researchers, and faculty of major law schools and colleges in the subcontinent.
