WHAT IS GYSD?:
Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) is an annual campaign that celebrates and mobilizes the millions of children and youth who improve their communities each day of the year through service and service-learning. Established in 1988, Global Youth Service Day is the largest service event in the world, and the only day of service dedicated to children and youth. GYSD is celebrated each year in over 100 countries. GYSD in this year will be celebrated on April 20-22.
HOW TO BECOME A YOUTH COMMUNITY SERVICE AMBASSADOR?
If you are youth in Sri Lanka age between 16-25, if you wish to develop your personality and leadership qualities, if you wish to serve with fellow youngsters in Sri Lanka and globe, having mind set of serve others specially needy and poor you may be a right person to receive the honour of GYSD Youth Community Service Ambassador in 2012. GYSD Ambassadors will introduce GYSD to other fellow youth and children, will organize community service programmes and will report/post service activities in GYSD website. www.gysd.org This will be a high recognition for youth to become leaders in the society by doing service to the community.
HOW TO APPLY?
If you are a youth concern about others and wish to do social services and become role model for fellow youth, and age between 16-25, You are requested to send your CV to gysd2012af@yahoo.com
HOW TO GET TRAINING?
After receiving your CV you will be invited by SUNFO by an email to participate :
GYSD Awareness Workshop (In Sinhala, Tamil and English Medium) at National Museum Auditorium, Sir Marcus Fernnado Mawatha, Colombo 07
on Saturday 21 January,2012 from 9.30AM-12.30PM
and Ambassadors Induction and Certificate Award Ceremony from 2.30PM-5.30PM.
